DiscoverOhio.com Monthly contest official rules
  1. How to Enter.  To enter, follow instructions published on the contest page of DiscoverOhio.com. Answer all contest questions.  Each entry with correct answers to contest questions has an equal chance to win. Entries are only accepted on-line at the DiscoverOhio.com website.  Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST on the last day of the contest month. Only one entry per person per day is permitted.  All entries become property of the Ohio Department of Development Tourism Office.
  2. Eligiblity.  No purchase necessary.  The Contest is open only to adults (18 or older).  Entries received from persons residing in geographic areas in which entry is not permissible will be disqualified.  Employees of the State of Ohio, Contest sponsors, Digiknow, Ron Foth Advertising, Teleperformance USA, and Great Lakes Publishing, and their respective affiliates and members of the immediate families of any employees of those organizations are not eligible to enter or win the Contest.  This Contest is void where prohibited by law.
  3. Contest Sponsor and Prize.  The Ohio Department of Development selects a sponsor for each monthly Contest (the “Sponsor”).  The Sponsor is identified on the DiscoverOhio.org website.  The Sponsor provides a prize package with an aggregate value of $500 or more.  One (1) prize package will be awarded by the Sponsor of each monthly Contest.  The Sponsor is not required to allow any prize substitutions.  If the offered prize is unavailable at the time of award, a prize of equivalent value may be substituted by the Sponsor.  Neither the State of Ohio nor the Ohio Department of Development is liable for awarding the Contest prize.
  4. Winning Entry.  The Contest winner will be selected by the Sponsor in a random drawing from eligible entries.  The winner will be notified by the Sponsor by mail or e-mail at the address included in the winning entry.  Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received by the Contest deadline.   All taxes on the prize awarded are the sole responsibility of the winner.
  5. Acknowledgment of Award.  The winner may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within one (1) month after the date prize notification is first attempted.  A prize winner who fails to comply with this requirement may be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected.  If the prize notification is returned as undeliverable or not acknowledged within one (1) month, the winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner selected.
  6. Winner List.  For a list of winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Ohio Department of Development, Tourism Office, Attention: Contest Winner List.  Requests received more than two (2) months after each monthly Contest ends will not be processed.
  7. Internet/Technical Failures.  If for any reason an online entry is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Ohio Department of Development, or if any such circumstance or event corrupts or adversely affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest, the Ohio Department of Development may, at its sole discretion, cancel or suspend the Contest.  If the Contest is cancelled or suspended for any reason, prizes may be awarded based on entries received prior to date of cancellation or during any period that the Contest is not suspended.  None of the State of Ohio, any Contest sponsor, Digiknow, Ron Foth Advertising, Teleperformance USA, Great Lakes Publishing, or any for their respective affiliates, agents, officials or employees shall be responsible for any hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connection or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any human error which may occur in the receipt or processing of entries.
  8. General Conditions.   Contest participants agree to abide by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Ohio Department of Development and the Contest sponsor, which are final and binding as to all matters related to the Contest.  Disputes will be valid only if asserted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted with a Contest entry.   By entering, participants release and hold harmless the State of Ohio, any Contest sponsor, Digiknow, Ron Foth Advertising, Teleperformance USA, Great Lakes Publishing, or any for their respective affiliates, agents, officials and employees from any and all liability for injuries, loss, damage, or expense of any kind arising from or in connection with the Contest or any prize won.  The Contest is governed by Ohio law.
  9. Personal Information: From time to time the DiscoverOhio.org website requests information from users through surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary, and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose requested information.  Personal information requested may include contact information (such as name and address), demographic information (such as gender, occupation and age range) and vacation habits or plans.  Surveys.  Survey participants may be contacted about their vacation experiences in Ohio. The Ohio Department of Development or its agents may, from time to time, contact survey participants with special offers made by our marketing partners - Ohio's tourism businesses.  At that time, users will have the option to request to not receive any further information or offers from the Ohio Department of Development. The Ohio Department of Development will not provide personal information collected via surveys to businesses or organizations for direct marketing purposes.  Contest.  Information provided for Contest registration will be used by Contest Sponsors to notify winners and award prizes.  Contest Sponsors may also use contact information on a limited basis for direct marketing purposes.
